Congratulations to JoeMac for winning this week’s trivia contest sponsored by Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits! For the answers, please read below.
Today, for the first time in Bass Fishing Archives trivia history, we’re going to require you to identify an old school pic with TWO current pros in it. To make it even easier, we won’t require you to tell us anything else about them, just who they are.
We recognize that the picture is a little bit grainy, but the guy on the far left is a rookie Elite Series pro. In case you can’t tell, he’s pretty happy here, probably because the Pro Craft in which he sits is now his – he won it. The guy in the camo jacket on the far right is also a current Elite Series pro. For what it’s worth, they both call the same state home.
In order to win this week’s trivia contest, be the first to correctly name them both in the comments section below.
Here are the answers:
The angler on the left is 44 year old Elite Series rookie Brandon Coulter. While he’s originally from the Philadelphia area, he attended the University of Tennessee and has resided in the Knoxville area ever since. While he may be an Elite Series rookie by the letter of the rules, Coulter has fished eight full seasons on the FLW Tour, qualifying for the Forrest Wood Cup on three occasions.
On the far right stands another Volunteer State pro who fished the FLW Tour before leaving for the Elite Series. It’s Ott DeFoe. He’s substantially younger than Coulter – he’ll turn 30 on September 17th of this year – but he already has four Elite Series campaigns under his belt and fished his fourth Bassmaster Classic this year.
Just for fun, here are some more pics of a youthful Coulter. We’re particularly impressed by his “gun show.”
