Word has it, the shot of this future pro pictured here was taken right after his mom said he couldn’t go fishing. You probably want a better hint than that, so here goes. This professional just recently surpassed the $1 million mark in total earnings when combining both B.A.S.S. and FLW winnings. One more clue – that million includes wins on both of the major Tour circuits.
In order to win this week’s trivia contest, answer the following three questions correctly:
1.Who is the angler in the picture?
2.Which Tour events did this angler win?
3.What other professional athlete did he notably go fishing with earlier this year?
The answer and winner will be announced Thursday. Good Luck!
Here are the answers:
- The pictured pro above, taken at the ripe old age of 4, is Jacob Wheeler. The now 23 year old pro from Indianapolis, Indiana is fast becoming a household name among bass fishing fans.
- Jacob now has $1,005,636.33 in winnings to his credit, helped along by several wins and top finishes. He was the 2012 FLW Cup Champion (FLW), and most recently won the inaugural BASSfest event held a little over a month ago down on Chickamauga (B.A.S.S.). Along with those titles, he also has a BFL All-American win, a BFL state level win, and an Ultimate Match Fishing title on his resume.
- Earlier this year, after a Game 1 home loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Indianapolis Pacers star Paul George (24) and Jacob Wheeler hit the local lake to chill out and relax. The crappie were biting, and both Paul and Jacob posted pics on their Instagram accounts. This put the basketball world into a brief firestorm over whether or not Paul should have instead hit the courts after the loss. ESPN, among other large media outlets, picked up on the story. In the end, the Pacers won the series, and fans later even commented that the guys should go fishing more often.
