Monday Trivia – Name That Angler

BluegillPic

[Editor’s Note: Each Monday here on the Bass Fishing Archives we hold a trivia contest sponsored by Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits. We’d like to Thank GYCB for supporting this fun little event where the winner receives a $20 e-coupon for giving the correct answers.]

This week’s trivia question may prove to be a tough one for most of you. Only the most die-hard fans of professional fishing should be able to get it. The Elite Series pro pictured above with a big panfish has since moved on to bass, but in order to get the answer you’ll need to recognize that he’s a multi-species guy at heart.

If you don’t recognize that first picture, we’ll try to give you another hint with a later picture of him hoisting a bass.

BassPicThere, we’ve made it easy on you.

In order to win this week’s contest, you’ll need to answer the following five questions:

  1. Who is our mystery angler?
  2. What profession was he involved in before joining the professional ranks full time?
  3. What sort of franchise did he buy into in order to supplement his fishing income?
  4. What is his top finish in Elite Series competition?
  5. What is his top finish in B.A.S.S. competition?

The answer and winner will be announced Thursday. Good Luck!

  • Josh Unruh

Well this looks a little like Dennis Tietje. If so, then he used to be a rice and crawfish farmer in Louisiana. He and his wife own Gatti’s Pizza in Jennings, Louisiana. In the Elites, his best finish so far has been 41st place on Toledo bend in 2011 and in BASS competition his best finish is a 7th place on Toledo Bend as well in the Central open in 2009.
