History – Some of it is New

With Media Day over I thought I’d post some pictures of the event, which was held at Regions Field – home of Birmingham’s double-A baseball team the Barons. It was a nice venue as the luncheon was held in a large meeting room on the second deck and the boats were scattered along the main deck under the upper-level seats.

After lunch, the media went down to the main deck and it was there we talked with the anglers as they rigged, re-rigged and rigged more rods. My goal of the day was to talk with some of the more “experienced” anglers to learn more about how they got to this point in their life. All was a success and the fruits of those talks will soon be stories here.

Meanwhile, here are some random shots taken by Brenda Serrano. Hope you enjoy.

Let's see. Fish in winter/prespawn transition. Mark Davis - expert offshore angler, expert structure cranker and definite closer. This isn't one of those Vegas "safety" bets.

When I started following him he was 17. That was 1975. Since then hes fished in 29 Classics, which makes this his 30th. Only he and Rick Clunn hold that title. I'm rooting for you Gary.
